The 3 days trekking in Chubu Sangaku National park of mid Japanese Alps brings you from the past to present a historical and cultural experience with breathtaking views.
1st day, Mt. Norikura has been worshipped as a sacred mountain since more than 1200 years, you will see shrines and historic places on the harsh mountain range and gathered faith, as water god in the Nara period, as praying to win wars at Edo period.
2nd day, you will trek Kamikochi, Hotaka mountain range and Yarigatake, which Walter Weston applauded and highly recommended in “Mountaineering and Exploration in the Japanese Alps” written in 1896. The staying is a rare hut with fashionable and modern capsule type. It is famous for the novel “Hyoheki” that is based on the actual accident. The accident had big influence of the safety rules at the time.
This trekking tour is for everyone who wants to add a short trip to the schedule, also suits plans if you are going to the old town Takayama.

- This tour is a private group tour. The guestrooms may be arranged on your request.
There will be no extra fees on a request of 1 room for 2 people.
(Ex. If a group of 6 people includes a family of 4 people & a family of 2 people, A room for 4 people & a room for 2 people will be prepared.) - Large luggage will be delivered by the tour staff’s car.
- Bring your drinks by yourself. No drinks will be served on tour including lunchtime.
- Prepare your sturdy shoes for trekking. There will be no rental shoes at the tour.

- All of the contents of this tour are able to be held in rain. Only in case of stormy weather which causes a warning or emergency issue, part or all of the tour will be canceled. There will be no refunds on that case.
- Cancellation Fee -
In cases where the customer cancels the contract after the contract has been completed, 1 customer will be charged a cancellation fee from their travel fee at the following rates. In cases where multiple people are participating and a portion of the customers cancel their contracts, we will charge the remaining customers a fee based on the difference according to the change in the number of people (around 1 vehicle/1 room per person) using transport and accommodation facilities.

Trekking in Chubu Sangaku National Park of mid Japanese Alps
The altitude of Mt.Norikura is 3,026m, visit 1200 years old main shrine located at the top of Mt. Norikura while thinking about ancient mountaineering training.
Don’t miss the spectacular view of the Japanese Alps from the summit of Mt. Norikura！

The second day follows modern mountaineering in Japan. Explore points such as the achievements and history that Weston pioneered over 100 years ago.
Myojin Pond, where the annual unique festival is held, has a mysterious atmosphere. You can also hear legends that have been passed down in the mountains for 1500 years.

Hyoheki-no- yado TOKUSAWA-EN
Staying capsule type of a rare “hut”
The staying hut is in the same location as the novel ”Hyoheki” that is based on the actual accident.
The modern and innovative design that does not seem to be a mountain lodge is very attractive.
Homemade meals full of vegetables from the home garden are also recommended.
Morning trekking back to Bus terminal
After Japanese style breakfast and coffee, depart and walk down to Kamikochi bus terminal.
“Wild vegetable Chimaki-Bento” from TOKUSAWA-EN is for lunch.
